phpList
phpList ranks #23 of 23 in email marketing platforms in the week of 28 September 2026, with a visibility score of 3 across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It was named in 5% of the answers we sampled.
sampled: 3 of 4 assistants this week
phpList shows up in just 3 of 59 answers across AI assistants, landing it a score of 3 out of 100 overall from ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity alike. Its one bright spot: the open-source and self-hosted newsletter question, where it's named in all 3 of 3 answers. Outside that niche, though, it's a no-show, missing entirely from questions about free email marketing tools, solo-creator picks, free tiers under 1,000 subscribers, small business tools, and general "best email marketing platforms" roundups. In short, AI assistants see phpList as a self-hosted specialist, not a general-purpose contender.
